Kubo and the Two Strings is the next movie from ParaNorman, Coraline studio



Laika Studios, the production company behind ParaNorman and Coraline, has released the full theatrical trailer for its next animated film, Kubo and the Two Strings.
The film, which stars Charlize Theron, Rooney Mara and Matthew McConaughey, follows a young boy who's tasked with destroying a horde of ghosts and demons that surface to invade his village. The only way to stop them is to leave home and track down a suit of armor worn by his late samurai father, which allows him to battle the various entities
Those enamored with the art style of Laika's previous films will be happy to know thatKubo and the Two Strings returns to that unique stop-motion aesthetic, with special attention given to the creepy paranormal forces that appear on screen.
Kubo and the Two Strings is being helmed by Travis Knight, the lead animator behind Coraline and ParaNorman, and is scheduled to be released on Aug. 19.
