
Bjornsson, in addition to playing an extremely terrifying large man on TV, competes in strongman contests the world over, and he’s been on a tear recently. The human giant, standing at 6’9″ and weighing in at 400 pounds raised both eyebrows and heartrates in February by shattering a 1,000 year-old Viking record, carrying a 1,400-pound log on his back for five steps.
This time around, he’s working with a much lower weight, but a much greater distance. Competing in a keg toss competition, Björnsson tossed a 33-pound keg nearly 25 feet into the air. At first blush, it sounds like a less impressive record, but considering incremental distances get geometrically more difficult as one fights gravity, it’s a sight to behold.
