Orange Is The New Black star faces assault charges!

 

Orange Is The New Black star Dacha Polanco faces assault charges after appearing in Manhattan Criminal Court.

Dacha Polanco faced four counts of assault and harassment on a 17-year-old girl, Michelle Cardona.
Dacha, who plays Dayanara Diaz in the show, was arrested this summer at her Washington Heights home after the attacks.

The actress reportedly scratched, punched and pulled the hair out of the 17-year old girl.
Court papers say: “Ms. Cardona observed the defendant strike Ms. Cardona about the face and head with a closed fist at least three times, pull Ms. Cardona’s hair, and strike Ms. Cardona’s arms with the defendant’s hands and nails.”

Polanco’s defence attorney Gerald Lefcourt claimed: “It’s a setup to try to get money and it was tape-recorded.

“This young woman was trying to extort her to drop the case. We’re confident the charges will be dismissed.”

The actress will next appear in court in January after being released without bail. She was also ordered by a judge to steer clear of the alleged victim.
